Vulcans lock up PacWest title and Regional berth

The University of Hawaii at Hilo locked up its second Pacific West Conference title in three seasons with a 3-0 win over Chaminade University in McCabe gymnasium in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Set scores were 25-15, 25-19, 25-18.
The Vulcans are 23-1 overall and 13-1 in the PacWest while the Silverswords are 4-20 overall and 2-12 in the PacWest.
“I thought we controlled the tone of the match throughout and I was very pleased with our play,” UHH head coach Bruce Atkinson said.
Josimara Pinheiro led the Vulcans with 15 kills and nine digs.
With the conference championship, the Vulcans have a hold on the PacWest’s automatic berth to the NCAA Division II West Region, November 19-21 at a site to be determined.
