Not ready to play
Friday, October 30th, 2009
A sluggish first-half left the University of Hawaii at Hilo with a 2-0 loss to Academy of Art University in Pacific West Conference action on Amauulu Field in Hilo, Hawaii.
The Vulcans are 3-10-4 overall and 2-6-3 in the PacWest while the Urban Knights are 2-13-2 overall and 2-7-2 in the PacWest.
"These girls have been really lucky," UHH head coach Cam Camarena said. "I don't know if we've come ready to play every game. They thought it was going to be an easy game.
"This time it really bit them."
The Vulcans managed to out-shoot the Urban Knights 15-6
In the second half, Camarena had the defenders and forwards switch positions in hopes of waking up his squad.
"They've been complaining and we pretty much let them see what happens when they don't come ready to play," Camarena said.
AAU's Olivia Dupon scored a pair of goals in the first half for the game's only scores.
