The University of Hawaii at Hilo dropped their first Pacific West Conference match as conference leading Grand Canyon University handed the Vulcans a 3-0 loss in Phoenix, Ariz.
The Vulcans are 4-6 overall and 3-1 in the PacWest while the Antelopes are 9-1-1 overall and 6-0 in the PacWest.
Defense played a key part in the match as the Antelopes were credited with 13 shots and six shots on goals while the Vulcans had eight shots and one shot on goal.
The Vulcans were tagged with 12 fouls while the Antelopes had eight.
