The University of Hawaii at Hilo finished 15th out of 20 teams at the NCAA Division II West Regional at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, Calif.
Garrett Mcallister's 53rd place finish led the Vulcans. He finished the 10k course in 33:54.1, 3:11.6 minutes behind the race winner.

The University of Hawaii at Hilo men’s cross country team finished fourth in the 2009 Hawaiian Airlines Pacific West Cross Country Championships held in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, Calif.
The Vulcans tallied 97 points in the seven-team race with Academy of Art University claiming the conference title with 20 points. They were followed by Brigham Young University-Hawaii (51), Hawaii Pacific University (76), UHH, Notre Dame de Namur University (130), Grand Canyon University (133) and Chaminade University (177).

The University of Hawaii at Hilo claimed second place at the Brigham Young University-Hawaii Men's 8k Invitational on the Laie, Hawaii campus course.
Stefano Barbis led the Vulcans with a second-place finish in a time of 25:50.
