The 2009 University of Hawaii at Hilo softball team had four players named 2008-09 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Scholar-Athletes.
Earning the honors were returning senior outfielder Sierra Green and sophomore pitcher Amber Waracka, and former players Brianne Adams and Malia Naukana-Christensen.

The University of Hawaii at Hilo softball program will hold a 14-inch slow-pitch benefit tournament on Saturday and Sunday, October 31 and November 1 on the UHH softball and baseball fields.

The University of Hawaii at Hilo softball program will hold a mandatory informational meeting for open tryouts at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 20 in the UHH Athletic Department classrooms.
Tryouts will be at noon on Monday, September 7 on the Vulcan softball field.
