Michael Garcia joined the University of Hawaii at Hilo athletic training staff on August 1, 1998.

He was promoted to head certified athletic trainer on August 1, 2006.

Garcia is also an instructor at UHH for Care and Prevention of Athletic Training and Advanced Care and Prevention of Athletic Training courses.

He was a graduate intern at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas (1996-98) and an athletic trainer at Escondido High School-Calif. (1995-96).

He received his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from Sacramento State University in 1995 and his Master of Science in Sports Injury Management from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas in 1998.

Garcia is certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification and a member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association.
