The University of Hawaii at Hilo got a rude awakening as they were called for 27 personal fouls and dropped a West Region game to St. Martin’s University 84-69 at the Western Oregon University/Phoenix Inn D2 Shootout in Monmouth, Ore.

The Vulcans are 0-1 while the Saints are 1-0.

Justin Smith led the Vulcans with 19 points and seven rebounds. Andrew Gipson added 16 points. Full Story »

The University of Hawaii at Hilo is headed home after losing 3-2 to the University of Alaska-Anchorage in the NCAA West Regional match in San Bernardino, Calif.

Set scores were 27-29, 26-28, 25-21, 25-16 and 12-15.

The University of Hawaii at Hilo went through another cold night in Anchorage, Alaska as a 26.3-percent shooting performance led to a 102-44 lashing by the University of Alaska Anchorage in the Wells Fargo Sports Complex.

VB: Vulcans head to San Bernardino, Calif.

Sunday, November 15th, 2009 - Women's Volleyball

The University of Hawaii at Hilo is headed to San Bernardino, Calif. where they will face the University of Alaska-Anchorage in a first-round match of the NCAA Division II West Regional beginning on Thursday, November 19.

The match pits the Pacific West Conference champion Vulcans (25-1 overall) against the Great Northwest Athletic Conference champion Seawolves (22-7). Full Story »
